Men's Tennis Blanks Cal Poly 7-0

TUCSON, Ariz. - The No. 62 ranked Arizona men's tennis team defeated Cal Poly on Thursday 7-0. The Wildcats swept the singles matches and won two of three doubles matches to earn the victory.
In the first singles spot, senior Steven Capriati, ranked No. 36 and playing his final home tennis match, topped Cal Poly's Stacy Meronoff, 7-5, 6-3. Wildcat junior Tom Lloyd downed Cal Poly's Jones, 6-1, 6-2. Sophomore Arnaud Agniel won a three set match against Cal Poly's Erin Carroll, 6-7, 6-2, 7-6.
In doubles play, Capriati and Wildcat sophomore Carl Hagman tripped up Cal Poly's Mike Marquez and Greg Levy, 8-4. Arizona sophomores Agniel and Roeland Brateanu edged Cal Poly's Meronoff and Jones, 8-4.
The Wildcats continue action Saturday, April 20 as they take on the Arizona State Sun Devils in Tempe.
