The Spring Game Highlights Activities on the Final Saturday of April.
April 18, 2002
Corvallis, Ore. - Participate in the Beaver Fun Run, pick your own football seat for the 2002 season, have your shirt signed by your favorite football student-athletes, watch the intensity of the final scrimmage of the spring session, and cheer on the baseball team's run for postseason. All of those events and many more activities are scheduled for Sat., April 27 on the Oregon State University campus.
The day begins with registration for the 10K, 5K race/walk from 7-8:30 a.m. at the sparkling new Merritt Truax Indoor Center. The race begins at 9 a.m. and will wind through the lush OSU campus.
There are approximately 1,500 season tickets available for the seven-game home football schedule, and the Athletics Ticket Office is giving you an opportunity to choose your own seat in Reser Stadium. From 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. you will be able to locate an available seat, signified by a balloon, and return the accompanying tag to ticket office representatives located in the tent in section 19. The tag describes the proper donation level that is warranted for that seat. Payment may be made by check, cash, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover.
Do you have a favorite football, shirt, or game program you would like to have signed by the 2002 team members? Your chance will be at 11:45 a.m. in Reser Stadium when the entire team will be available for autographs, including postseason honors candidates Dennis Weathersby, Richard Seigler, Eric Manning, Nick Barnett, James Newson, and Mitch Meeuwsen.
One of the most intense spring practice sessions in school history will come to close early Saturday afternoon with the annual spring game at Reser Stadium. This will be your first chance to catch what may be the school's best defensive unit ever, and what is a very intriguing offense. The scrimmage begins at 1 p.m.
Do you still have some energy left? The Beaver baseball team hopes so, as the squad will host the nationally ranked Stanford Cardinal at 4 p.m. at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. The Stanford series, which begins April 26 at 6 p.m. with the first night game ever at the stadium, could determine the fate of the Beavers' aspirations for postseason play.
It's an activity filled Saturday on the OSU campus, and the Beaver athletic family invites you to be a part of it!
