Lillian Bush Places Third at Mt. SAC Heptathlon Championships

Walnut, Ca - Sophomore Lillian Bush finished third in a 27-woman field on Friday at the Mt. SAC Relay Heptathlon Championships.
Bush ended her two-day, seven-event competition with a career-best 5,015 points. That point total is seventh-best in school history. Her point total is a Pac-10 Championship qualifying mark, but 162 points short of the NCAA provisional qualifying standard.
During second day competition, Bush ran the fastest 800 meters in the field with a time of 2:18.32, good for 846 points. Bush scored 674 points with a leap of 5.85 meters in the long jump, and 421 points with a throw of 27.08 meters (88-10) in the javelin.
Freshman Ahimsa Hodari collected 4,716 points, good for 13th place. Hodari's point total is a Pac-10 Conference qualifying effort. On her second day of competition, Hodari collected 768 points with a time of 2:24.16 in the 800 meters, 28.43 meters (93-3) for 477 points in the javelin, and 741 points with a 5.64 meter effort in the long jump.
At the Mt. SAC Decathlon Championships, Nicholas Taylor finished 16th in a time of 23 athletes with 5,937 points. Taylor posted 725 points in the 100 meters (11.63), 657 points in the long jump (6.32m), 543 points in the shot put (10.95m, 35-11 1/4), 552 points in the high jump (1.71m, 5-7 1/4), 775 points in the 400 meters (50.86), 776 points in the 110 meter hurdles (15.62), 424 points in the discus (27.94m, 91-8), 509 points in the pole vault (3.60m, 11-9 3/4), 509 points in the javelin (33.73m, 110-8) and 624 points in the 1,500 meters (4:49.12).
