THE TOURNAMENT: The 2002 Pacific-10 Conference Men's Golf Championships will be held April 25-27 at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore. Each of the 10 teams will consist of six players for a total of 60 players. A total of 72 holes will be played, with 36 on Thursday, and 18 on Friday and Saturday. First round play begins Thursday at 7:30 a.m., and the second round is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. Play on Friday and Saturday begins at 8 a.m. Admission is free.
THE COURSE: Trysting Tree Golf Club will play to 7,022 yards and will carry a par of 72 for the tournament. The rough has been grown to approximately four inches - considerably shorter than the three-foot rough when Trysting hosted both the men's and women's NCAA West Regional Championships last spring. Trysting Tree has been a part of the Corvallis community since 1988, and was rated the third-best collegiate golf facility on the West Coast by Golfweek Magazine in 1998.
