Arizona Track & Field Concludes Weekend at Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, Calif. - The University of Arizona's men's and women's track and field teams concluded a long weekend at the Mt. SAC Relays on Sunday. The three-day event provided the opportunity for many Wildcats to improve upon and earn post-season-qualifying performances. In the last day of competition, the Wildcats had several athletes improve their standings for placement at the Pac-10 and NCAA Championships.
In women's action on Sunday, Alexandra Komnos finished second in her heat of the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.92. Seynabou Ndiaye was second in her heat of the 100m with a finishing time of 11.90. Ndiaye also finished sixth in her 200m heat with a time of 24.70. Brianna Glenn improved her NCAA-provisional-qualifying time in the 100m to 11.34 after placing fourth in her heat. Glenn finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 20-2 ï¿½ (6.15m). Chelsea Powell was less than a second off of her best time in the 400m hurdles after finishing fifth in her heat with a time of 61.18.
On the men's side, Jeff Hunter won his heat of the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.09. He also improved his time in the 400m hurdles to 51.33 after finishing second in his heat. Sean Shields posted a personal best in the shot put for the outdoor season with a throw of 60-6 (18.44m). Chris Harris finished fifth in the 100m with a time of 10.90. Mike Kenyon was only tenths of a second off of his personal best in the 400m with his time of 45.90 in the 400m.
The Wildcats completed a very successful weekend at the Mt. SAC Relays. They will return to action from April 26-27 at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
