Men's Golf Competes at Pac-10 Championships

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The California men's golf team will compete at the 43rd Pacific-10 Championships April 25-27. Cal sophomore Peter Tomasulo, coming of an eighth place finish at the U.S. Intercollegiate last weekend will lead the Bears.
The Pac-10 Championships will take place at the Trysting Tree Golf Club (Par 72, 7022 yards) in Corvallis, Ore. Oregon State University is the tournament host for the 72-hole event.
A practice round will take place on April 24. The opening two rounds of the tournament are slated for April 25, the third on April 26 and the final round is scheduled for April 27. The starting time for the first day is 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. for the next two days.
Cal finished ninth at the 2001 Pac-10 Championships with a 1442 (357-358-356-371). USC won the tournament, followed by Arizona State and Arizona.

According to the April 18 Golfweek/Sagarin Index, Cal is ranked No. 63 and Tomasulo is ranked No. 89 individually.
The University of New Mexico will host the NCAA West Regional Championships May 16-18 and the NCAA Championships will be May 29 through June 1 in Columbus, Ohio.
