No. 25 Women's Tennis heads to Pac-10 Championships

Arizona completed the 2002 dual season with an 11-10 overall record, Arizona's first winning record since the 1998 season. The Wildcats upset the No. 9 Arizona State Sun Devils in the final match of the season to finish 4-4 in the Pac-10. The .500 finish marks the first time since 1997 that Arizona has finished at .500 or better. Arizona finished with a 9-10 record against teams ranked by the ITA.
Arizona freshman Maja Mlakar and sophomore Debbie Larocque lead the Cats with 21 singles victories apiece. Freshman Marie-Pier Pouliot is third on the team with 20 singles victories while freshman Dianne Hollands has earned herself 12 wins in 23 attempts. Mlakar, Larocque and Pouliot each finished the Pac-10 regular season with marks of .500 or better.
In doubles, Mlakar and Larocque lead the team with a 15-9 record. Hollands and senior Brooke Taylor have compiled an 8-6 record.
The Wildcats have three singles players that are ranked and one doubles team. Mlakar is the highest ranked singles player for the Cats at No. 18 while Larocque is No. 72 and Hollands is No. 91. Mlakar and Larcque sit at No. 9 in the country in doubles.
