Husky Spring Game Kicks Off Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

April 25, 2002

Seattle - The annual Washington Spring Football game will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 at Husky Stadium. Admission is free to the public. Parking, after noon, is free in the stadium lots.

Fox Sports Net Northwest will air a broadcast of the game at 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Tod Pickett will call the action while former Husky quarterback Sonny Sixkiller will conduct sideline interviews with players and coaches. Washington head coach Rick Neuheisel will wear a wireless microphone during the broadcast and provide insights from field level during the telecast.

The Husky squad has been divided into two teams, Purple and White, for this year's spring game. Due to injuries and off-season surgeries, both the offensive and defensive linemen will play for both teams. Some players will participate for both teams during the game.

'We have done most of the work, so this is a chance to have some fun and provide a game-day atmosphere,' says Husky coach Rick Neuheisel. 'It should be a great day and I think our fans will have a fun time with all the planned activities.'

The first and third quarters of this year's Spring Game will be 15 minutes, the second quarter will be 12 minutes and the fourth quarter will be 12 minutes of running time.
