LOS ANGELES -- The USC baseball team can finally appreciate the $4 million Dedeaux Field renovation project this weekend as construction has been completed. The Trojans will switch dugouts from third base to the first-base side permanently for tonight's first game at 6 p.m. in a crucial Pac-10 Conference series against Washington.
USC (28-20, 11-4) is in first place, one game ahead of Washington (24-20-1, 10-5). Saturday's game will start at 3 p.m. with the series finale on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. All three games will be broadcast live, along with Live Stats play-by-play, on www.usctrojans.com.
The renovation project includes a new locker room and players' lounge on the ground level, new coaches' offices and expanded Hall of Fame on the middle level and access for fans on the roof, which will also be available for group events.
New restrooms and additional bench seating on the first base side are also part of the project. Capacity at Dedeaux Field is now at 2,500 with the additional seats.
