WSU Tennis Inks British Star

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State Head Tennis Coach Cari Groce announced the signing of Melanie Humphrey, Tuesday.

Humphrey, a native of Harpenden, England, comes to WSU from Millfield School where she was the 2001 England Public Schools doubles champion. In addition, she won the Under 18 County Singles Championship in 2000.

'We're extremely excited to have Melanie join our program,' Groce said. 'She comes from one of the top British tennis schools. She is the type of player who will get better for us every year.'
