Jon Reehoorn Tied For 18th After First Day Of NCAA West Regional

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Washington State senior Jon Reehoorn fired an even par 72 in the opening round of the NCAA West Regional at the par 72, 7,368 yard University of New Mexico Championship Course, Thursday.
Reehoorn enters tomorrow's second round tied for 18th in the 141-man field, four shots back of tournament leader Jason Hartwick of Texas, who turned in a four under 68. Reehoorn's round featured four birdies as the senior from Burlington, Wash. carded a 36 on the front and back nines.
Senior Jeremy Taylor also carded four birdies in his opening round 74 (+2). Taylor is tied for 36th heading into Friday's second round. Junior Dustin White turned in a 77 and is five over after the first day of competition. Sophomores Isaac Woods and Ryan Camp recorded rounds of 79 and 80 respectively to round out the Cougar roster.
The Cougars are tied for 19th after the first round with a score of 302 (+14). Texas is setting the pace after turning in a three under 285, four shots better than second place San Diego State.
The top 10 teams in the 27-team regional and two individuals (from teams that do not qualify) will advance to the national championships, May 29-June 1, at Ohio State University's Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.
