Three Wildcat Track & Field Women Earn All-Academic Honors

The University of Arizona's women's track and field team had three athletes named to the 2002 Verizon Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-American First Team for District VIII. The teams are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Seniors Tara Chaplin and Brianna Glenn and junior Sarah Jacobs earned first team honors for the all-district team. Chaplin is a studio art major and specializes in the long distances for the Wildcats. Glenn is Arizona's premier sprinter and will earn a degree in marketing. Jacobs is a pole vaulter and maintains a 4.0 GPA as a general biology major.
All three will be added to the national ballot for consideration on the All-American team, which will be announced on June 20, 2002.
