Head Coach Mark Marquess
'It's a thrill to be back, someone asked me if I ever get tired of coming to Omaha and I tell them no.'
'This is special because we have six seniors that have been here all four years, so this is a special group. Last year, we were a young club, but this year we are a different team.'
'The thing that can identify this year's Stanford team is consistency. We never got off on a big run, we never got to a point where we got really hot or cold, we were just consistent week-in and week-out.'
(on what it takes to get to Omaha)
'I hate to admit it, but it does take a little bit of luck. And as every coach has mentioned, you have to get good pitching and be solid defensively in addition to having an all-around solid team. Having experience and guys that have been here before also is an advantage.'
Head Coach Paul Mainieri
'Well, I guess the understatement of the year is that we are very happy to be here in Omaha, and it only took us 45 years to get back here.'
'Our season started out a little shaky at 9-10 and 0-4 in our conference, but we've won 40 of our last 46 games to get here, so someone must have changed what was being put in our water.'
'Winning the Big East Tournament kind of got a big monkey off our back, and we were able to play loose in the Regionals. Then we went to the Super Regional at Florida State and our kids showed remarkable poise and confidence and won two-of-three games down there.'
