June 14, 2002

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - -

Oregon State rowers Joy Jordan and Kim Hughes were named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association All-West Region First- and Second-Teams, respectively, the CRCA announced Friday.

Jordan, a senior and two-year letterwinner from Alsea, Ore., rowed the six seat in the varsity eight boat that was ranked as high as 13th this year.

Due to her selection to the first team, Jordan is now eligible for All-America honors.

Hughes, who hails from Vancouver, Wash., is also a two-year letterwinner and rows the eight seat. Hughes returns next year as a senior.

To be nominated, rowers must meet their respective institution's eligibility rules and participate in at least 75% of the season's races in the varsity boat.
