Pac-10, SEC Top Conferences in Sears Cup Standings

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Five Pacific-10 Conference institutions finished the 2001-02 academic year ranked in the final Sears Directors' Cup Top 15, which ties the 12-member SEC for the highest total in the nation.

The Conference of Champions� was represented by three members in the Director's Cup Top 10, which also ties the SEC for the national high. STANFORD won four NCAA team titles and posted two runner-up finishes this year, winning its unprecendented eighth consecutive Directors' Cup Championship with 1,499.00 points. UCLA finished fifth in the Cup standings with 1,026.00 points.

Following are Conference breakdowns of institutions ranked in the Top 10 and Top 15 of the final 2001-02 Sears Directors' Cup standings (number in parenthesis indicates conference membership total).
