Football Season Ticket Sales Climb over 22,000

Corvallis, Ore. - Season tickets sales for the 2002 Oregon State University football campaign have reached 22,212 as of Monday evening, according to the school's athletic ticket office. The school will cap sales at 23,000, a number it reached last season. The season ticket drive is sponsored by the OSU Federal Credit Union.
Season tickets may be purchased for $195. The price for OSU faculty and staff is $156, and $117 for senior citizens, Varsity 'O' members, and Beaver Athletic Student Fund under 30 participants. Tickets remain available on the sidelines in sections 9, 16 and 24 and in end zone sections 17, 18 and 19.
The 2002 season kicks off Thurs., Aug. 29 at home against the Eastern Kentucky University Colonels. The Colonels were recently ranked No. 2 in Division I-AA football by a national publication and enter this season with a seven-game winning streak.
The second home game of the season features a match-up between two of the winningest head coaches in Division I history, the Beavers' Dennis Erickson and UNLV's John Robinson. The game will be played Sat., Sept. 14 and will air nationally over TBS Superstation.
The remainder of the 2002 home schedule includes Fresno State, and traditional Pacific-10 Conference foes UCLA, California, Arizona, and Oregon in the 106th Civil War game.
Single game tickets, located in the south endzone, will be available beginning Sat., July 13 at 8 a.m. Tickets may be purchased at the Gill Coliseum ticket window, no phone orders will be accepted. The Civil War is soldout, with ticket availability for the remaining schedule ranging from 709 for the Dad's Weekend game with California, to 1,600 for the season opener.
