Indianapolis Colts Sign Brian Allen

July 9, 2002

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - The Indianapolis Colts have signed both of their sixth-round draft picks, defensive tackle David Pugh and running back Brian Allen, the team announced.

Terms were not disclosed.

Pugh, from Virginia Tech, and Allen, from Stanford, are the first of the Colts' picks in April's draft to sign.

Allen finished his Stanford career (1998-2001) sixth on the all-time school rushing list with 2,117 yards. He also finished 10th on Stanford's all-time all-purpose rushing list with 2,918 yards. In 2001, the Ontario, California native rushed for 899 yards and nine touchdowns on 174 carries.

Six draft picks remain unsigned, including first-round selection Dwight Freeney, a defensive end from Syracuse.
