Injuries End Careers of Two Offensive Linemen
July 17, 2002
Injuries have ended the careers of two UCLA offensive linemen.
John Ream (6-4, 288), a third-year sophomore center from Las Vegas, NV, and Collin Barker (6-8, 303), a second-year freshman offensive guard from Wortham, TX, have both been granted 'injured retired' status.
Ream, who started one game at center and played in seven contests last season, has had problems with both knees as well as his right foot during his career. Barker has had continuous problems with his left ankle and had surgery during the off-season.
Both players will remain on scholarship but will not count against the limit of 85 scholarships for active players.
