Stanford Alum Kate Starbird Traded To WNBA Seattle Storm

Seattle (AP) - The Seattle Storm traded second-year guard Semeka Randall to the Utah Starzz on Monday night for guard-forward Kate Starbird.
Starbird is from nearby Tacoma, Wash., and used to play for the Seattle Reign of the now-defunct American Basketball League. The former Stanford starappeared in 15 of Utah's 22 games this season, averaging 1.7 points in 5.9minutes.
She was chosen by the Reign with the No. 4 overall pick in the 1997 ABLdraft and played two seasons in Seattle. Starbird averaged 12.9 points, 2.8rebounds and 2.8 assists in 59 games. In 1998-99, she ranked fourth in the ABLin 3-point percentage and 13th in scoring.
