Volleyball Team Checks in from European Tour
Aug. 13, 2002
We have made it safely to Europe and are now in Salzburg, Austria. We were in Germany for three days and were able to see the concentration camp in Dachau, which was pretty depressing but very interesting.
Yesterday we visited a castle in Fssen which was amazing. Granted we had to walk up a hill that was about two miles long and pretty steep, but it was definitely worth it. At the top of the hill, not only was there a castle but a bridge that overlooked the entire town as well as a monstrous waterfall.
Today we are in Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart and home to the Sound of Music. Tomorrow we take the bus six hours to Hungary.
The food here is a bit interesting, but tasty. The first night was a bit of a shocker when most of us ordered salad and all that came to us was lettuce leaves and maybe a few drops of oil and vinegar. Not what we were used to. But every night since has been awesome.
Our team has been bonding well on the court and off the court. We have won both of our matches (scores of 3-0 and 3-2) and we play again tonight. This has been an amazing trip so far and we can't wait to see what is to come.
We'll try to write again as soon as possible.
