Becky Lucidi Advances To Semifinals Of U.S. Women's Amateur

Scarbourough, New York - USC senior-to-be Becky Lucidi outlasted Emily Bastel, 3-1, on Thursday to move on to the semifinals of the U.S. Women's Amateur held at the 6,190-yard par-71 Sleepy Hollow Country Club.

Lucidi will square off against Lindsay Wright of Australia on Friday. The winner of that contest will play the winner of the matchup between Maru Martinez and Brandi Jackson in the 36-hole final on Saturday. Lucidi, 21, is playing in her first Women's Amateur.

In Wednesday's round of 16, Lucidi, defeated Elizabeth Janangelo, 144-151.

Lucidi was named to the All-Pac-10 first team as a 2002 junior and was also an All-American honorable mention selection.

Jill McGill is the only other USC woman to win the Women's Amateur (1993).
