ASU To Honor Maricopa County Firefighters At UCF Game

Aug. 28, 2002

TEMPE, Ariz. - In appreciation of their tireless work this summer fighting the fires in northern Arizona, Maricopa County firefighters and their immediate families are eligible to receive complimentary tickets to the ASU football game versus Central Florida on September 7 at Sun Devil Stadium, ASU Director of Athletics Gene Smith announced Tuesday. ASU has invited all Maricopa County Fire Departments, and tickets for firefighters will be available through their local city's department. On game day, some Maricopa County Fire Departments will be bringing out fire trucks and other fire fighting equipment to be on display on the south side of Wells Fargo Arena, adjacent to Sun Devil Stadium/Frank Kush Field.

A selected firefighter from Maricopa County will be serving as an honorary captain for the game. If you are a Maricopa Country firefighter interested in tickets, contact your local department for further information. This is an event to celebrate the efforts of our firefighters and is not a tailgating event. Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Sun Devil fans interested in tickets can purchase them at the ticket office at the south end of Sun Devil Stadium or call 480-965-2381.
