Mahdavi Named to Roster for Shrine Game

Seattle - Washington senior inside linebacker Ben Mahdavi has been named to the West Roster of the 78th Annual East-West Shrine Game. Mahdavi becomes the 63rd player to be announced for this year's all-star game.

A native of Mercer Island, Mahdavi has been named a captain for the 2002 Husky team. A two-year starter, Mahdavi ranked 11th in the Pac-10 last season with 85 total tackles. He led the conference with four fumble recoveries. He was an honorable mention all-Pac-10 selection as a junior.

The 2003 East West Shrine Game will be played Saturday, Jan. 11 at Pacific Bell Park in San Francisco. The West Squad will be coached by Washington State's Mike Price.
