San Jose State Tops Caly Poly 3-1 At Stanford Invitational

Stanford, Calif. - The San Jose State Spartans, led by Stephanie Pascucci's 19 kills, defeated the Cal Poly Mustangs, 3-1, this evening at the Stanford Invitational in Maples Pavilion. Game scores were 30-26, 30-26, 23-30, 31-29.

Spartan Fran Pozzi added 18 kills to the winning effort while Kimberly Noble had 13 on the night. Christina Lukens led the team with 16 digs. Setter Lindsey Rule had a match-high 52 assists and 13 digs.

Cal Poly was led by Kristen O'Halloran's 13 kills and 14 digs. Molly Duncan added 10 kills plus a match-high 18 digs. Jessica Diepersloot and Nicole Bertotti each had 11 kills for the Mustangs.

SJSU had 18 service aces for the match including six from Liz Hudson and four each from Lukens and Pozzi. Cal Poly outblocked the Spartans 19-6.

San Jose State improves to 3-3 on the year while the Mustangs fall to 1-5.
