Football Players of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--Wide receiver Reggie Williams of Washington, linebacker Brandon Chillar of UCLA and kick returner Hakim Hill of Arizona State have been named Pac-10 Players of the Week in football.
Williams, a sophomore from Lakewood, Wash., had a big day in Washington's 34-10 win against San Jose State. Williams had six receptions for 160 yards (26.7-yard average) and two touchdowns of 21 and 89 yards. The 89-yard touchdown reception is the longest in Washington history. The Husky offense piled up 347 yards passing and 499 yards total offense.
Chillar, a junior from Carlsbad, Calif., led the UCLA defense in the Bruins' 30-19 win against No. 19-ranked Colorado State. Chillar had a team-high 10 tackles and picked off a pass. He also forced a fumble on a Colorado State two-point conversion attempt that would have tied the game. UCLA returned the attempt the other way for a score. The UCLA defense limited the Rams to 98 yards passing and 277 yards total offense.
Hill, a freshman from Iowa City, Iowa, keyed Arizona State's special teams in the Sun Devils' 46-13 win against Central Florida. Hill returned five kickoffs for 157 yards (31.4-yard average) and four punts for 38 yards (9.5) for combined kick return yardage of 195 yards.
Also nominated for offensive player of the week honors were quarterback Derek Anderson of Oregon State, wide receivers Samie Parker of Oregon and Shaun McDonald of Arizona State and running backs Jonathan Smith of Washington State and Akil Harris of UCLA. Also nominated on defense were linemen Terrell Suggs of Arizona State, Tully Banta-Cain of California and Rien Long of Washington State, linebackers David Moretti of Oregon and Richard Seigler of Oregon State and safety Greg Carothers of Washington. Nate Fikse of UCLA, Keith Lewis of Oregon and Marcus Trufant of Washington State were nominated for special teams play.
