Men's Tennis Players Selected To Compete In All-American Championships

SEATTLE, Wash.- Washington men's tennis singles players sophomore Alex Vlaski and senior Matt Hanlin, and the doubles team of Vlaski and senior Ari Strasberg, have been selected to compete in the ITA Men's All-American Championships held Oct. 4-13 in Chattanooga, Tenn., the ITA announced Wednesday.
Vlaski (Belgrade, Yugoslavia), ranked 15th in the preseason poll, and Hanlin (Birmingham, England), ranked 23rd, earned main draw singles selections for the tournament, while the team of Vlaski and Strasberg (Ramat-Hasaron, Israel) was selected to compete in the doubles qualifying round.
The Men's ITA All-American Championships get underway with pre-qualifying rounds Friday, Oct. 4, through Monday, Oct. 7, followed by the qualifying rounds held Tuesday, Oct. 8, and Wednesday, Oct. 9. The main draw portion of the tournament will be held Thursday, Oct. 10, through Sunday, Oct. 13.
