Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- CALIFORNIA senior midfielder Brittany Kirk has been named the Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 10-16, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Kirk, from Claremont, Calif., posted a goal and had the game-winning assist in a 2-1 win over No. 3 Santa Clara Sept. 13. In Cal's first road game of the season, Sept. 15 against Saint Mary's, Kirk helped the Bears escape with a 1-1 tie as she scored with 14 seconds left in regulation. The assist against the Broncos was the 18th of Kirk's career, moving her into a tie for third place on the California all-time list.

California (4-1-1 overall, 0-0-0 Pac-10), No. 5 in the latest NSCAA/adidas Top-25 poll and No. 6 by Soccer America, visits Fresno State Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

This is Kirks's first Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and California's 11th such honor all-time.
