Pac-10 Champion UCLA fell one win short of making its second straight trip to the NCAA College Cup. With 20 wins, the Bruins set the school single-season record in victories. Five Pac-10 teams advanced to the NCAA Tournament: CALIFORNIA, STANFORD, UCLA, USC, and WASHINGTON. Both Stanford and UCLA, the 2000 NCAA runner up, reached the Round of 16.

WASHINGTON's Hope Solo earned Pac-10 Player of the Year honors, while USC's Megan Kakadelas was named Freshman of the Year. STANFORD's Andy Nelson picked up Conference Coach of the Year honors.
