No. 4 Cal Defeats Penn, 4-2

PHILADELPHIA - No. 4 California came back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to defeat Pennsylvania, 4-2, Friday afternoon at Rhodes Field. The Bears improved to 6-1-1, while the Quakers dropped to 5-3-0.
Penn jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 41st minute with an unassisted goal from Robin Watson.
Penn grabbed the lead for the last time in the 58th minute on Katy Cross' 10th goal of the year.
Cal junior midfielder Kassie Doubrava converted her first goal of the season in the 65th minute, and Cabello earned her second assist of the contest.
Senior defender Lucy Brining tallied the eventual game-winner in the 70th minute on a feed from senior Carly Fuller. Six minutes later, Fuller added some insurance for the Bears with her third penalty kick goal of 2002.
Today's game marked the return of Cal senior All-American Laura Schott, who had missed the previous six games with an MCL sprain and a one-game red card suspension. She came off the bench to see her first minutes since the Bears' Aug. 30 season opener.
The Bears take a five-game unbeaten streak into Sunday's noon match-up at Hartford.
