The Bruins topped the field with 197.625 points, while ARIZONA finished second with a school record 197.050 points. Host STANFORD scored 196.150 points to earn third place.

Six Pac-10 institutions were invited to NCAA regional meets: Arizona, ARIZONA STATE, OREGON STATE, Stanford, UCLA, and WASHINGTON. The Wildcats, Cardinal, Beavers and Bruins advanced to the NCAA Championships, with UCLA and Stanford representing the Pac-10 in the Super-Six competition. Host Alabama claimed the NCAA title and two-time defending champion UCLA finished third. Stanford placed sixth. Arizona and Oregon State finished 11th and 12th, respectively.

In the NCAA event finals, eight Conference gymnasts qualified to compete. Dantzscher earned three NCAA individual crowns (floor, vault, all-around) while two other gymnasts finished in the top three; Doni Thompson (UCLA- 2nd, uneven bars) and Willis ( UCLA-3rd, uneven bars).

Dantzscher was named Pac-10 Gymnast of the Year. She captured the NCAA all-around title and set a new NCAA record with seven consecutive 10s on the floor excercise. Dantzscher holds the UCLA and Pac-10 record of 17 career 10s. Arizona's Katie Johnson and Stanford's Mandy Delgado were named Pac-10 Co-Freshmen of the Year. Arizona's Bill Ryden, who led the Wildcats to their first NCAA appearance in five years, was named Pac-10 Coach of the Year.
