Men's Tennis Trio Unable To Advance Past Qualifying Draw Of All-American Championships

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.- Washington men's tennis senior Ari Strasberg and the doubles team of seniors Matt Hanlin and Dillon Ruby were eliminated in the first round of the ITA All-American Championships qualifying draw held at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tenn., today.

Hanlin and Strasberg are still slated to compete in the main draw held Thursday, Oct. 10, through Sunday, Oct. 13, with Hanlin in the singles competition and Strasberg in doubles. Sophomore Alex Vlaski will join Hanlin in the singles main draw and will pair with Strasberg as a doubles team.

Strasberg was defeated by Matias Marin from Baylor in the first round of the qualifying singles draw, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Hanlin and Ruby fell victim to the No. 7 seed doubles team from Illinois, Phil Stolt and Brian Wilson, by the score of 8-3.
