Wildcat Whi Kim Advances to the Main Draw at the ITA All-American

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Junior Whi Kim defeated Pete Stroer of Texas, 6-1, 6-4, today in the final qualifying round at the ITA All-American. With this victory, Kim improves his record to 2-3.

The main draw has cut the original field of 256 to the top 64 players in the nation. Kim was ranked No. 62 in the pre-season polls and will face the No. 42-ranked player, Jonathan Chu of Harvard, Thursday, Oct. 10 at 9 a.m.

'Whi Kim is playing great tennis,' assistant coach Bob Helmig said. 'He is moving well and is sticking to his game plan well.'

As a team, the Wildcats hit the courts again Oct. 18-20 at the USD All-Collegiate Tournament.
