Arizona's Whi Kim Loses in Opening Match at ITA All-American

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Arizona junior tennis player Whi Kim lost to Jonathan Chu of Harvard in the first round of the main draw at the ITA All-American in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Thursday, Oct. 10.

Kim, of Pueblo Colo., lost to the 42nd - ranked player Chu in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. Kim lost the first set and battled back to break Chu's serve at 4-4 on his way to beating him in the second set. With the loss, Kim's record drops to 2-4 on the season.

Kim is scheduled to compete again Friday, Oct. 11, in the consolation round.

The Wildcats will be in action next at the USD All-Collegiate Invitational in San Diego, Calif., and at the Midland Collegiate Classic in Midland, Texas. Both tournaments take place Oct.18-20.
