No. 1 Stanford Men Win Arizona State Invitational

Tempe, Ariz. - The top-ranked Stanford men's team rolled to a victory at the Arizona State Invitational on Friday at Kiwanis Park. Andrew Hill won the individual competition by covering the 8000 meter course in 24:14 to lead the Cardinal effort. The Cardinal finished with 27 points and finished 17 points ahead of second place Arizona (44 points).
Stanford placed two other runners in the top 10 as Steve Loughlin (24:47) finished seventh and Sean Knapp (24:50) placed eighth. Evan Fox (12th, 24:58) and Isaac Hawkins (14th, 25:06) completed the scoring for the Cardinal. Philip West (15th, 25:23) and David Stillman (31th, 26:04) also competed for Stanford.
Top-ranked Brigham Young won the women's 5000 meter race by scoring the minimum number of 15 points. BYU's Kristin Ogden won the event in 17:37. The second-ranked Stanford women's team did not compete.
Stanford will next be in action when both the men's and women's teams travel to the Pre-NCAA Meet at Indiana State on Saturday, October 19.
