David Martin Reaches Consolation Singles, Doubles Finals At ITA All-American

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Stanford's Scott Lipsky and David Martin reached the final of the Icy Hot/ITA Men's All-American Tennis Championship for the second straight year with a 9-8 (2) semifinal victory over Richard Barker and William Barker of Rice on Saturday afternoon at The Champions Club.
Lipsky and Martin, who were NCAA Finalists a year ago, have reached at least the semifinals in five of the last six national tournaments. The Cardinal seniors will face third-seeded Michael Calkins and Amer Delic of Illinois in the final on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. (PT).
Martin also posted a pair of straight set singles victories to advance to Sunday's 7:00 a.m. (PT) consolation bracket final against Nic Boeker of Georgia. The eighth-seeded Martin ousted 16th-seeded Brian Wilson of Illinois 6-4, 7-5 in the quarterfinals, and breezed past Vanderbilt's Chad Harris 6-4, 6-1 in the semifinals.
Cardinal freshman K.C. Corkery reached the consolation semifinals before falling to Boeker 6-2, 6-2. Corkery opened the day with an easy 6-0, 6-3 quarterfinal win over Carlos Palencia of UC Santa Barbara, and finished the tournament with an impressive 5-2 mark.
