Top-Ranked Trojans Take Down Duck Volleyball, 3-0

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The top-ranked USC volleyball team defeated the University of Oregon 30-15, 30-14, 30-15, in front of 736 fans at the Lyon Center Saturday evening. With the win, the Trojans remain perfect on the season, 14-0 overall, 8-0 Pacific-10 conference and Oregon falls to 10-11, 0-7.
Freshman outside hitter Jaclyn Jones turned in her best performance in conference play, finishing the match with a team-high eight kills and a career-high .462 hitting percentage. Jones had five of her eight kills in game three. Senior Lindsay Closs added five kills and six digs on the evening while freshman Dariam Acevedo had four kills.
USC was led by Keao Burdine and April Ross, who had 10 kills each. Defensively, middle blocker KatieOlsovsky led the Trojans with nine digs.
The Trojans used a balanced offensive and defensive effort, holding the edge in kills (53-24) and digs (41-19). USC committed just 11 errors to hit .457 for the match.
Oregon returns home next weekend, hosting Arizona Thursday at 7 p.m.
