Beavers Picked Seventh In Pac-10 Women's Basketball Coaches Poll

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Oregon State University's women's basketball team was picked to finish seventh in the 2002-03 Pacific-10 Conference coaches poll, as was announced Thursday.
The Beavers received 40 points in the voting, while Stanford, which finished 32-3 overall and advanced to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet Sixteen last year, was for the third consecutive season predicted to finish as champion with 90 points and nine first place votes.
Oregon State returns seven players from last season's 17-15 squad that made its second consecutive postseason Women's National Invitation Tournament appearance.
The Beavers finished in a tie for fourth place in the Pac-10 standings last season with an 11-7 record, marking their highest conference finish since 1995-96.
OSU opens its exhibition season on Thursday, November 7 in Gill Coliseum against Basketball Travelers.
