Reser Stadium Expands Online
Oct. 17, 2002
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State football fans can now take a look at an expanded Reser Stadium, and those wishing to get season tickets for the first time have a way to guarantee themselves a seat when the new east grandstand is completed.
Oregon State's athletic website at www.osubeavers.com now has a section for the 'Raising Reser: Expanding Beaver Nation' campaign. Included are illustrations comparing Reser Stadium's current appearance with what it will look like when the first phase of the project is finished, and a question-and-answer session on the project with OSU Athletic Director Bob De Carolis.
The site also allows fans wanting to become season ticket holders to reserve their place for 2005. At the same time, they'll improve their chances to get any season tickets that become available in 2003 and 2004.
'We've had an overwhelming amount of interest in the brief time since this project was announced,' De Carolis said. 'Fans want to know how they can get involved in making the expansion and renovation of Reser Stadium a reality, and we want to have ways for them to get on board as soon as possible.
'Right now, we're looking at including the fans who haven't been able to get season tickets as we've sold out the past two seasons. A little later on this fall, we'll be going to our current season ticket holders and filling them in on the part they can play in this project.'
As the 'Raising Reser: Expanding Beaver Nation' drive gets underway, Oregon State is accepting deposits from those who don't currently have season tickets but want to become part of OSU football Saturdays. A deposit of $100 will assure those fans that they can join the crowd at Reser Stadium with season tickets in 2005; it will also give them priority on the waiting list for season tickets that may become available for 2003 and 2004.
Fans making their deposit to become season ticket holders will be assigned a priority number on a first-come, first-serve basis. The order of those priority numbers will be used in giving new ticket holders choice of seating area in 2005, and for the opportunity to purchase any available season tickets in 2003 and 2004.
There are two methods for those wanting to make the deposit to become new season ticket holders:
No. 1: During Oregon State football games the remainder of the 2002 season, call 1-800-GO BEAVS and give the customer service representative who answers the call the necessary information. Fans attending home games who want to become season ticket holders can sign up at the 'Raising Reser' booths at Reser Stadium.
No. 2: Go to the Oregon State athletics website at www.osubeavers.com and go to the 'Raising Reser' section. Print out the Order Form that's available as a PDF file and mail it in.
'This lets OSU fans who may have been on the outside looking in for the last two seasons get their foot in the door for 2005,' De Carolis said. 'We're looking forward to having more members of Beaver Nation join in making Reser Stadium one of the finest homefield advantages in college football.'
Those who already hold OSU football season tickets should not call the number or mail in the form. In early November, all current season ticket holders will be mailed a presentation on the stadium expansion that will outline how they can maintain or improve their seat location.
