UCLA Finishes Sixth at Stanford Tournament

The UCLA women's golf team finished sixth Sunday at the Stanford Intercollegiates, hosted by Stanford on its campus course.
The Bruins posted a final round team score of 305 for a 54-hole total of 901. UCLA finished one shot behind fifth place Arizona. California won the tournament with a three-round total of 885, 21-over par. Vanderbilt placed second at 887, followed by Washington at 890 and New Mexico in fourth at 896.
UCLA junior Gina Umeck finished 12th at 222, six-over par, after posting a final round score of 75. Junior Saki Uechi tied for 17th at 225 after a final round 74. Sophomore Yvonne Choe tied for 22nd at 226 and teammate Charlotte Mayorkas tied for 39th at 231. Senior Vivan Phosomran, who played as an individual, also tied for 39th.
Arizona's Erica Blasberg finished first with a 54-hole total of 211, five-under par. She played the last 36 holes in six-under par. New Mexico State's Alena Sharp captured second place at even par 216.
