Sun Devil Tom Kuyper Hired As Men's Basketball Radio Analyst

Tom Kuyper, who played for Arizona State from 1978-83, has been hired as the men's basketball radio analyst by the Sun Devil Sports Network, general business manager Brett Wallerstedt announced. He will join Tim Healey on all the broadcasts this year.
Kuyper played in 71 games in his four-year career and was a member of two of the best teams in ASU history. The 1979-80 team, when he was a redshirt freshman, went 22-7 as he played in 19 games and shot 59 percent from the field (23-of-39). Kuyper also played in 18 games for the 1980-81 team which was 24-4 and beat No. 1 Oregon State in Corvallis on the final day of the regular season, ASU's only victory over the top-ranked team in the nation.
Kuyper earned Pac-10 All-Academic honors in 1981-82 and has played professionally in Europe and with Athletes In Action.
He currently hosts a weekly radio show called 'Kids and Sports' and is the Founder and President of Athletes In Training, a youth sports non-profit organization reaching more than 12,000 kids weekly in the Phoenix Metro Area. He also is the founder and Director of the Tom Kuyper Summer Basketball Camps Athletes in Training is the host organization for the Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury youth basketball leagues.
ASU's regular season begins Nov. 22 against Morehead State in Tempe. The Sun Devils open the exhibition season against EA Sports on Nov. 13.
