Women's Basketball Slated Eighth In Pac-10 Media Poll

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Oregon State University's women's basketball team was picked to finish eighth in the 2002-03 Pacific-10 Conference media poll, as was announced Wednesday.
The Beavers received 72 points in the voting of media members, while Stanford, which finished 32-3 overall and advanced to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet Sixteen last year, was predicted to finish as champion with 188 points and 17 first place votes.
Oregon State returns seven players from last season's 17-15 squad that made its second consecutive postseason Women's National Invitation Tournament appearance.
The Beavers finished in a tie for fourth place in the Pac-10 standings last season with an 11-7 record, marking their highest conference finish since 1995-96.
OSU opens its exhibition season on Thursday, November 7 in Gill Coliseum against Basketball Travelers.
