Oregon Nets Three More Victories at Thunderbird Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. - Oregon's men's tennis team picked up three more wins Saturday at the Thunderbird Invitational, hosted by Arizona State. Thomas Bieri and Oded Teig each won singles matches over Arizona State opponents, then combined to defeat a Northern Arizona duo in doubles play.
'I'm pretty happy with the results today,' assistant coach Ross Duncan said. 'Teig and Bieri stepped it up for us.'
Teig and Bieri dispatched each of their opponents in straight sets. Teig knocked off Clinton Letcher, 6-2, 6-2, while Bieri defeated Ryan McBride, 6-3, 6-2. Both opponents are members of Arizona State's tennis team. Also in singles play, Sven Swinnen was unable to defeat Arizona State's Casey Woss, losing the match, 7-5, 6-2.
Teig teamed up with Bieri to dominate Northern Arizona's duo of Coll/Schram, 8-2. The last day of the invitational will take place Sunday. Matches will begin with singles play at 9 a.m., while the doubles matches will follow the conclusion of singles action.
