Men's Varsity Eight Finishes Second

SEATLLE, Wash. - Oregon State's varsity eight placed second and the OSU second varsity eight finished third as the Beavers concluded the fall season at the Head of the Lake Regatta Sunday morning in Seattle.
OSU's varsity eight finished in 15 minutes, 44.96 seconds. Washington won the race with a time of 15:16.83, and Pocock Rowing Center finished about three seconds behind the Beavers.
Washington took the top two spots in the second varsity eight race with both boats finishing under 16 minutes. Oregon State's time of 16:08.93 in the 4,800-meter course was 10 seconds faster than British Columbia for third place.
'It was a pretty good weekend,' Oregon State coach Kjell Oswald said. 'We definitely made some improvements from last weekend's results. Regardless of any outcome you want to learn something for the next week, and they came out today ready to improve on that result and both crews put together a much better race.
'This was a pretty good fall and a good way to transition our teams into a good winter training season.'
