Soccer Earns Trip To NCAA Tournament

TEMPE, Ariz. - For the second time in the past three years, the Arizona State soccer team earned a bid into the NCAA Tournament, as the 64-team field was announced Monday. The Sun Devils (11-6-2) will travel to Santa Clara, California to face a familiar opponent in the first round in Washington State (11-6-2).

The first round match up between ASU and WSU is scheduled for Friday, November 15 at 6:00 p.m. (Arizona time). Host and sixth-seeded Santa Clara (15-4-1) will take on Creighton (12-7-2) in the other first round match at 8:30 p.m. The two winners of the first round matches will play each other in the second round on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Arizona State last made the tournament in 2000 and is 1-1 all-time. The Devils defeated SW Missouri State, 2-0 in the first round in Tempe and lost to Portland, 3-1 in the second round in Portland.
