WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--Quarterback Jason Johnson of Arizona, cornerback Derrick Johnson of Washington and kicker Kirk Yliniemi of Oregon State have been named Pac-10 Players of the Week in football.

Jason Johnson, a senior from Puyallup, Wash., had a record-setting performance in leading Arizona to a 52-41 upset win at California. Johnson completed 31 of 45 passes (.689) for 492 yards and four touchdowns. The 31 completions and 492 yards are Arizona school records and the 492 yards passing is the second-highest total in the Pac-10 this year and the seventh-best single-game performance in Conference history.

Derrick Johnson, a sophomore from Riverside, Calif., was named defensive player for the second week in a row for making the big plays on defense in Washington's 42-14 upset win at No. 23-ranked Oregon. Johnson intercepted two passes for the second week in a row and was credited with breaking up three other passes. He added five tackles, three solo. The Husky defense limited the Ducks to just 10-of-33 (.303) passing for 170 yards, 300 yards total offense and just 3-of-12 third-down conversions.

Yliniemi, a junior from Monmouth, Ore., was good on three-of-three field goal attempts in Oregon State's 31-21 win at Stanford. In so doing, he extended his streak of consecutive field goals made to a school-record 12 in a row.

Others nominated for offensive player of the week honors were wide receiver Reggie Williams of Washington and tailbacks Justin Fargas of USC and Steven Jackson of Oregon State. Also nominated on defense were linebackers Ray Wells of Arizona and Nick Barnett of Oregon State and safety DeShaun Hill of USC. Derek McLaughlin of Washington, Tom Malone of USC and Lance Relford of Arizona were nominated for special teams play.
