Results from Cal-Stanford Triple-Distance Meet

The University of California's men's swimming team captured two of six stroke categories at the Cal-Stanford Triple Distance meet today at Spieker Aquatics Complex in Berkeley. The Golden Bears won the backstroke and sprint freestyle events in a meet that was not officially scored.
Junior Alex Lim finished first in the backstroke category, with a time of 2:55.13 over three events, swimming the 50 (22.37), 100 (47.24) and 200 (1:45.52). Sophomore Duje Draganja won the sprint freestyle category (2:42.93) with the leading times in all three events, 50 (19.91), 100 (44.04) and 200 (1:38.98).
Freshmen Michael Cavic and Rickie Barbosa swam well, posting runner-up finishes in the butterfly and breaststroke categories respectively. Cavic, last spring's U.S. National Champion in the 100m fly, finished second with a combined time of 2:59.61-50 (22.02), 100 (47.95) and 200 (1:49.64). Barbosa, last spring's U.S. National Champion in the 100m breast, was second in the breast category with a combined time of 3:25.97-50 (25.81), 100 (56.21) and 200 (2:03.95).
