Mackenzie Fifth at College All-America Golf Classic

El Paso - Washington junior All-American Brock Mackenzie is in fifth place, four strokes behind the leader, at the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic at ElPaso Country Club. Mackenzie shot rounds of 77 and 66 during Monday's opening 36 holes of play. His second-round 5-under score was the lowest of any player during the first day of competition.

Mackenzie finds himself four strokes behind Texas Christian's Adam Rubinson who carded rounds of 71 and 68 to take a three-stroke lead at 139. Virginia Tech's Brendon De Jonge, North Carolina's Dustin Bray and Kentucky's John Holmes are tied for second at 142.

The final 18 holes of the event will take place Tuesday. Last year Mackenzie placed eighth at the event.
