STANFORD senior outside hitter Logan Tom has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Volleyball Player of the Year, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Tuesday.

Tom, a four-time All-Pac-10 selection, becomes the third player to repeat as Pac-10 Player of the Year, joining former Cardinal Kerri Walsh (1998, 1999) and UCLA's Daiva Tomkus (1988, 1999). The honor also marks the 10th time a Stanford player has won the award in the 17 years of Pac-10 volleyball. Tom, the 2001 AVCA Player of the Year, led Stanford to 26-4 record overall and a 15-3 record in Pac-10 play.

Tom, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, was among the league leaders in the Conference in kills (4.90 kills per game/3rd), points (5.72 points per game/3rd), hitting percentage (.318/8th) and digs (3.16 dpg/8th). Tom hs pushed her career kills total to 1,828 - eighth all-time in Pac-10 history.

FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR -- KIM GLASS, ARIZONA
A 6-2 outside hitter from Lancaster, Pa., Glass led Arizona in kills per game (4.78) and points per game (5.55). She was twice named the Pac-10 Player of the Week (Sept. 16, Oct. 14). Glass established an Arizona freshman record with 425 kills and is the first Wildcat to earn Freshman of the Year honors.

COACH OF THE YEAR -- JIM McLAUGHLIN
Washington coach Jim McLaughlin has been tabbed the Pac-10 Coach of the Year after guiding Washington to its best record and Pac-10 finish since 1997. In just his second year at the helm of the Husky program, McLaughlin led Washington to a tie for fifth in the Pac-10 race at 9-9, while posting an overall record of 17-10 (with two matches remaining). The Huskies also made an appearance in the USA Today/AVCA Coaches poll with a No. 21 ranking on November 4 and a No. 22 ranking on November 11. McLaughlin has a career record of 110-69 (.615) in six seasons. Prior to his arrival at Washington, McLaughlin spent five years at Kansas State where he led the Wildcats to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and was named the Big 12 Coach of the Year in 1999.
