Two Beaver Volleyball Players Earn Pac-10 Accolades

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Junior Laura Collins and freshman Karah Rhoades were each given Honorable mention accolades Tuesday, as announced by Pacific-10 commissioner Tom Hanson.

Collins, a setter from Milwaukee, Wisc., ranked second in the conference with 12.41 assists per game going into the Beavers final match against the University of Portland Tuesday night. Last season Collins was also a member of the Honorable mention team and was recently named to the Pac-10 All-Academic team for the second year in a row. On October 28, Collins was named Pac-10 player of the week; she was the only member of the team to receive the honor this season.

In her first season with the Beavers Rhoades, of Burlington, Colo., was given Honorable mention accolades for the Pac-10 all freshman squad. As an outside hitter Rhoades averaged 2.8 kills, 1.3 digs per game and ranked fourth on the team in the five-category point system.
