Bruin Swimming Heads to Husky Invitational, Diving to Auburn Invitational

In the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll, UCLA (4-1, 2-1 Pac-10) is ranked No. 14 in the nation (tied with Maryland).
This week, the Bruin swimmers will compete at the Husky Invitational in Federal Way, WA. Bruin divers will be at the Auburn Invitational in Auburn, AL.
At the 2001 Husky Invitational, the Bruins placed first and set new meet records in the 200 Free Relay (1:32.34) and 200 IM (Malin Svahnstrom, 2:01.37).
On November 22 and 23, the Bruins opened Pac-10 competition, hosting the Arizona State Sun Devils and Arizona Wildcats. UCLA defeated the Sun Devils 151-87 and lost to the Wildcats 160-140. UCLA is 4-1 overall, 2-1 in conference play.
NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT
During the fall signing period, three recruits signed National Letters of Intent to join the Bruins.
Jeana Fuccillo (Lebanon, IL/Althoff Catholic HS), Katie Nelson (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA/Peninsula HS) and Amy Thurman (Orinda, CA/Miramonte HS) will enter as true freshman in fall 2003.
The next Bruin home meet will be Saturday, January 18, when UCLA will host the UC San Diego Tritons.
All Bruin home meets are held at the Sunset Canyon Recreation Center located on the UCLA campus.
